The duo of Otunba Bamidele Benson Oluwaseyi Akingboye (OBA) and His Excellency, Alfred Agboola Ajayi (AAA) has affirmed that they have a clear Ideology on governance and how to transform Ondo state, hence their decision to collaborate in ensuring that His Excellency, Agoola Ajayi grabs the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and subsequently elected the governor of Ondo State.
Speaking at the official mergence of OBA and Agoola Campaign Organizations on Thursday, 16th July, 2020 in Akure, Akingboye and Agboola acknowledged their compactibilty in ideology in terms of governance and compassion to liberate Ondo state masses from the shackles of inept rulership and despotism.
Akingboye in his opening remark reminded his followers; Elders' Council Members and Coordinators of the OBA Grassroot Movement acroos the 18 LGA of his earlier position that his aspiration to become Ondo governor is borne out of sincerity and zeal to impact lives and maximize the human and natural potentials in the state to the benefit of all.
He said "My people, you will recall that when we began this movement around June last year, I told you that my gubernatorial adventure for the past seventeen years is driven by vision and it is not a do or die affair.
"I told you that it is devoid of sentiment and if I see any viable person that shares the same vision as mine, I will not hesitate to work with that person.
"Eventhough I have worked hard to be there myself, I think the current reality requires that we merge our strength with a man who also shares the same vision with ours in order to achieve the desired goals seamlessly.
"Like I told you, governance should be devoid of sentiment. Whoever wants to become the governor of our state must have the capacity and requisite competence irrespective of the zone, tribal affiliation and ethnic nationality he belongs. What we need is the best. Hence, my choice of Hon. Agboola Ajayi, who I believe will change the narratives, if we combine our ideas, skills and intellect together.
"I will want us to inject energy and use all legitimate machineries within our disposal to ensure Hon. Agboola wins the primaries and subsequently the general election.
Akingboye who is optimistic of Agboola's victory at polls implored his followers to go back to their ward to preach the gospel even as he expressed confidence that Agboola would deliver.
Delighted by the arrangement , Hon. Ajayi described the collaboration as a union of two Titans with unrivaled sagacity and Political skills.
He believes, the decision by Otunba Akingboye to support him is another boost to his aspirantion and increasing legitimacy among the PDP delegates.
While appreciating Akingboye for considering him among other qaulified aspirants in the party, promised never to let him and his team down even as he urged them to re-ignite the energy used in working for OBA before to the new project.
He said "I appeal that you extend the love you have for my brother, OBA to me. This is our project and I want you to see it as yours, and work towards its realization. This is the time OBA needs you most and you must not let him down.
"I consider myself very lucky to have earned your endorsement, because I am not the best but God has a way of doing things and everyone has his appointed time.
