Ondo community in total blackout

Amid the prevalence of harsh economy, rising unemployment, some communities in North Senatorial District of Ondo State are grappling with lack of electricity for the past five years.

The affected communities includes Ahoko, Fatti and yinusa, all in Akoko north East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Our correspondent who visited the places said economic activities in the clime had been stalled by the harsh effect of absence of power supply.

It was, reliably, gathered that artisans in the environs had became the devil's workshop sequel to the idleness occasioned by the black out.

Unveiling the root cause, an entertainer, Mr. Lukman Omuiyadun, accused BEDC for allegedly refusing to make functional, a transformer donated by a former member of house of representatives, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye.

He explained that BEDC outright refusal was because the communities could not pay for a whopping amount of 1million naira allegedly demanded by the power company.

Another resident of one of the communities, Ganiyu Adams, expressed displeasure over the status quo, adding that all apologies channeled to the company was treated with disdain.
