The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani has admonished the corps members not to succumb to procrastination if they want their dreams to come to reality.
The State Coordinator made the admonition today when she drew the curtains on the orientation course activities of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme for the 2021 Batch 'B' (Stream II) corps members.
Mrs. Ani said that empirical facts has shown that those who procastinate in taking life savings decisions always found themselves at challenging positions in life.
"My dear focused and highly enterprising children in the national service, I want to let you know that delaying to take action which can enhance your personal development when there is opportunity to do so is tantamount to allowing procrastination to steal your joy".
"You have seen for yourselves the testimonies of those who embraced one skill or the other here in the camp and follow their passion how they are on top of the world. It is never too late for those who are yet to make up their minds to take the decision that will rewrite their story towards greatness".
The NYSC Ondo State boss commended the Trainers and Facilitators for the invaluable sacrifices and personal commitments they made to give members of the service corps a fresh beginning.
She appealed to corps members not to allow the situation in the country to affect their resolve to continue with the post-camp training and improve on the foundation they have laid at the camp.
"It is an incontrovertible fact that winners don't quit and quitters don't win but those who resolve to key into the SAED programme purposed to better their lots will definitely have something concrete to show for it in the foreseeable future" she said.
During her brief remarks before the commencement of the exhibition cum competition, the Assistant Director/Head SAED, Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma said that corps members should not allow the huge investment made by NYSC management to go down the drain.
She informed the members of the service corps to take advantage of the SAED Training Centre located within the NYSC Zonal Office in Akure to perfect the skills or vocations they have learnt at the camp.
Mrs. Ehimwenma appreciated the State Coordinator for the unflinching support SAED Branch has been enjoying under her purposeful and dedicated leadership, and equally sought for more investment into the SAED activities.
'Mama SAED' as she is fondly called acknowledged the immense contributions of collaborating agencies for the discipline they instill in the corps members during hands-on training and other activities of the Branch.
During the Fashion Design competition, the best three were corps members Fawole, Olaitan Oluwatoyin, OD/21B/2537; Okwuazu, Mercy Emenebele, OD/21B/2756 and Otugo, Hope Mmesona, OD/21B/2680.
The Make-Over and Gele tying produced Odaudu, Deborah Ojochemi., OD/21B/3159; Doris Ishaya OD/21B/2897 and Ifediogor, Ekene Sophia, OD/21B/2545 as best three winners.
The attraction of the event was conspicuously felt in the Food Processing competition where Ugo, Precious Mema, OD/21B/2723 came top while Mba, Ifeanyi Nmecha, OD/21B/2677 and GaraJimoh, Mumuni Anataku, OD/21B/2468 were first and second runners up respectively.
