By Ibrahim Kilani

Some youths in Ipesi community, Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State, have staged a peaceful protest over the vacant stool of Olupesi of Ipesi.

Hordes of protesters holding placards with different inscriptions such—“Give us an Oba”, we have suffered “enough”, “16 years without a Monarch caused us setback” registered their displeasure at the major road of the community yesterday.

Speaking with our correspondent, a youth leader, Katola Kayode, said Ebomi lake in the area which is one of the flourishing tourist centres in the State has now abandoned and neglected due to lack of Monarch.

Also, a former Councillor and spokesperson for the women, Hon. Awolumate Akinwale and Mrs. Florence Ayekunlehin, said the absence of Monarch had retarded the growth of the agrarian community.

They, however, called on the State Government to wade into the crisis rocking Olupesi stool and swiftly commence the process of installing the new Olupesi of Ipesi
