The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluj, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, has extended goodwill to members of the institution’s community as Muslims and Christians commence the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent.

Ebeloku, in a message issued on Wednesday, described the dual observances as periods of spiritual renewal, self-discipline and deeper devotion to faith through fasting and prayer.

He noted that although Ramadan and Lent are observed differently, both emphasise sacrifice, compassion, generosity and commitment to peaceful coexistence, values he said are essential to building a harmonious academic environment.

The rector urged Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan fast to strengthen their faith, purify their hearts and seek divine blessings for their families and the nation.

He also encouraged Christian faithful observing Lent to embrace the season as a time for sober reflection, renewed devotion and hope.

Ebeloku said the institution’s diverse community should take advantage of the sacred period to reinforce unity, moral integrity and mutual respect, stressing the need for members to support one another and contribute to the growth of the polytechnic and the country.

He prayed for peace, renewed blessings and strengthened faith for all adherents during the period.
