A presidential aspirant of the Democratic Leadership Alliance for the 2027 general election, Abisayo Modupe Busari-Akinnadeju, on Thursday expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious at the polls, as she congratulated newly elected officials across several states following the conclusion of its May 2026 congresses.
In a statement issued to newsmen, Busari-Akinnadeju described the outcome of the congresses as a clear indication of the confidence party members have in the new leadership, urging them to justify the mandate through dedication and service.
She commended key officials in various states, including Comrade Mamman Bukar, Halima Garba and Barrister Mohammad Abdul Idris in Borno State; Ubasinachi Chimeremeze Destiny and Simon Affiugbo in Ebonyi State; Esther Ondoma and Vivian Awodi in the Federal Capital Territory; and Comrade Auwal Ibrahim in Gombe State.
Also acknowledged were Oluwatosin Israel Ayeni and Jeremiah Babaleye in Ondo State, as well as Tariduk Dukwee Itari and Awzeta Cyril Awzeta in Rivers State.
The DLA chieftain noted that the newly elected officials now carry the responsibility of driving the party’s vision at both grassroots and state levels, stressing that their roles are critical to its growth and national relevance.
She charged them to match the trust reposed in them with commitment, integrity and selfless service.
Busari-Akinnadeju further highlighted the structured progression of the party’s congresses, from ward to local government, state and zonal levels, culminating in the national convention.
She urged party members to remain disciplined and focused as the process unfolds.
Emphasising unity, she said the DLA was founded on inclusiveness and collective leadership, calling on members to work together towards rebuilding the country.
She also encouraged states yet to conclude their congresses to stay prepared, assuring them that the opportunity to emerge and contribute to the party’s advancement remained open.
