A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and aspirant for the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo, has pledged to promote inclusive development and strengthen grassroots representation if elected in the 2027 general election.
Fadairo made the promise in Akure while receiving endorsement from members of the Non-Indigenes Assembly drawn from Ondo State and other parts of the South-West.
The APC aspirant said his decision to contest was driven by the need to bridge developmental gaps and ensure that all segments of the constituency are adequately represented.
“I am committed to building a constituency where no group feels left out. Development must be inclusive, and representation must reflect the diversity of our people,” he said.
He outlined his priorities to include infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, and improved access to healthcare, education and economic opportunities.
Fadairo also stressed the need for collaboration among stakeholders, noting that sustainable development could only be achieved through people-oriented policies and collective effort.
He expressed appreciation to the Non-Indigenes Assembly for the endorsement, describing it as a sign of growing confidence in his leadership.
“I have the political experience and a clear understanding of the needs of our people. I assure you that I will not disappoint. We will carry everyone along, including non-indigenes, in our programmes and policies,” he added.
The aspirant, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and as Director of Administration in the Senate during the 9th Assembly, said he would also facilitate projects to improve road infrastructure, support small and medium-scale enterprises and attract federal presence to the constituency.
Earlier, the President of the Non-Indigenes Assembly, Mr Isaac Okita, described Fadairo as a unifying figure capable of fostering harmony across ethnic and cultural lines.
He said, “We are non-indigenes, but we are part of this community and contribute to its growth. We need a representative who understands our concerns and can speak for us.
“This is the time to choose the right candidate. We believe Hon. Fadairo has the capacity to represent the people effectively and make a difference.”
Okita also urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to support the aspirant’s ambition, noting that the constituency deserves responsive and impactful representation.
He added that members of the group would mobilise support for Fadairo ahead of the APC primaries and the 2027 general election.
