Mrs Abisayo Busari-Akinnadeju a 2027 former aspirant in the Democratic Leadership Alliance ( DLA) has urged Nigerians not to give up on the country but be hopeful of possible transformation.
Busari-Akinnadeju, in a statement on Saturday in Akure, enjoined Nigerians not to bow down to fear or intimidations.
She noted that with one purpose and unity, Nigerians would reclaim their happy lands from elements of destruction and those who profitted on the pains of others.
Busari-Akinnadeju, who unveiled her "Dare Agenda" barely 48 hours after her resignation from the DLA on the alleged failure of the party to conduct a free and fair primary, said Nigeria could reclaim its glory if all hands were on deck.
The ex-presidential aspirant said that the 2027 election was an opportunity to choose credible leaders to champion the course of common man and take the country to the next level.
She lauded various Nigerian women who made it through in the primaries of political parties.
"This marks a defining moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
"The unprecedented number of women stepping forward to contest the 2027 general elections stands as living proof of what the DARE Agenda is set out to achieve.
"This is not a coincidence , it is the result of deliberate, sustained work to ensure that Nigerian women are not merely observers of power, but its rightful holders.
"I believe our movement will inspire more women to aspire to the highest office in the country.
"With this milestone of more women aspiring for the office of the Nigerian president, my attention now turns to the next phase of the mission: returning to the race of the people. Working with the people of Nigeria to deliver credible leadership," she said.
According to her, high-level engagements will commence with purposeful, strategic conversations aimed at repositioning those who hold the power in Nigeria: the people themselves.
"Sovereignty belongs to the people and we must return power to the people.
"The Section 14(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria declares, unequivocally, that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.
"That provision is not merely a legal text; it is a mandate, a promise, and a charge.
Nigerians, in all their diversity, resilience, and determination are the heartbeat of this work. The journey continues," she said.
She congratulated every woman who emerged victorious in their respective political party’s primaries and processes.
"Your courage to contest, your resolve to endure, and your triumph in the face of entrenched barriers are a testament to what is possible when women dare to stand.
" You are not just candidates you are a proof.This moment belongs to you," she said.
