A political support group, Grassroots Alliance for BTO, has been inaugurated in Okeagbe-Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, with a pledge to deepen grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Tinubu's administration and the initiatives of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The inauguration attracted members of the All Progressives Congress, community leaders, youth groups and supporters from different parts of the council area.
Speaking at the event, the organisers, Awe Femi and Oladimeji Roland Adewumi, said the alliance was established to strengthen public support for government policies and programmes at the grassroots.
They noted that the reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration across various sectors were aimed at repositioning the country for sustainable growth and development.
According to them, although some of the policies may require time to yield desired results, they are designed to address long-standing challenges and create opportunities for economic recovery and improved governance.
The organisers urged Nigerians to remain committed to the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing optimism that the reforms would ultimately translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
An APC chieftain in Akoko North-West, Adetilewa Fafunmilade, who delivered a goodwill message, commended the formation of the group, describing it as a positive step toward enhancing political participation and strengthening support for government programmes at the community level.
He praised the leadership of the alliance for what he called their dedication to grassroots engagement and encouraged members to sustain their mobilisation efforts.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the APC in Akoko North-West Local Government, Kehinde Obanla, represented by the party's General Secretary, pledged the support of the party leadership to the initiative.
He stressed the importance of grassroots involvement in democratic processes and urged members of the alliance to promote unity and political awareness among residents.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of a vehicle to a grassroots mobiliser, Daniel, in recognition of his contributions to community engagement and political mobilisation.
The gesture drew applause from participants, who described it as an encouragement for party supporters working at the grassroots level.
Supporters at the event expressed confidence that the emergence of the alliance would boost political mobilisation efforts within Akoko North-West and strengthen support for the policies of the Tinubu administration and the developmental programmes championed by Tunji-Ojo.
Observers said the formation of the group reflected growing enthusiasm among supporters seeking to expand grassroots participation in governance and sustain backing for ongoing government reforms.
