A political support group, BTO for PBAT 27, has called on members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo South Senatorial District to turn out in large numbers and vote for the party’s candidate in Saturday’s senatorial by-election.
The group said the election offers an opportunity for residents of the district to reaffirm their support for the APC and contribute to the consolidation of democratic governance in the area.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Director-General, Ogbeni Adojutelegan Adesuyi Gideon, the organisation urged party stakeholders, youths, women, community leaders and loyalists across the six local government areas of the district to participate actively in the electoral process.
According to the group, the outcome of the poll will serve as a reflection of the people’s confidence in the ruling party and its leadership.
The statement noted that the election was not only about filling a vacant legislative seat but also about strengthening the APC’s political structure and ensuring effective representation for constituents in the National Assembly.
BTO for PBAT 27, a political group associated with the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, also appealed to party members to remain united and peaceful throughout the exercise.
It urged supporters to mobilise eligible voters in their communities and ensure a high turnout across polling units in the senatorial district.
The group further emphasised the need for members to conduct themselves responsibly before, during and after the election, stressing that peaceful participation remained essential to the credibility of the democratic process.
Expressing confidence in the APC’s chances at the polls, the organisation maintained that the party had continued to provide leadership and remained committed to development, economic growth and political stability.
The Ondo South Senatorial by-election is scheduled to hold on Saturday across the district.
