The African Democratic Congress senatorial candidate for Ondo North, Prince Foluso Mayowa Adefemi, has vowed to break what he described as years of stagnation and underdevelopment in the district if elected.
Adefemi in a statement issued on Thursday, said Ondo North had continued to fall behind in key areas of development despite its rich human resources, economic potential and strategic importance to Ondo State.
According to him, the district has suffered from inadequate attention to critical infrastructure, economic opportunities and other initiatives capable of improving the living conditions of residents.
He said the situation had made it imperative for the people to elect a senator who would make their interests a priority and aggressively pursue development opportunities at the National Assembly.
Adefemi said his decision to seek the senatorial seat was motivated by the need to change the narrative and provide the district with purposeful, accountable and result-oriented representation.
“Ondo North deserves better than the level of development it has experienced over the years. Our people have the capacity and resources to thrive, but what is needed is purposeful representation that will turn those potentials into tangible development,” he said.
The ADC candidate pledged to use the position to attract meaningful projects, create opportunities and push for interventions that would have a direct impact on communities across the senatorial district.
He added that he would remain accountable to the people, insisting that the mandate, if given to him, would be used to end the years of neglect and secure Ondo North’s rightful share of development.
Adefemi urged residents of the district to support his candidacy, saying an ADC victory would mark a departure from the past and usher in a new phase of effective representation and development.
