Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has denied reports alleging that she criticised the church’s leadership for neglecting her late father’s legacy.
Adewale, in a statement shared on her Facebook page on Monday, described as false a viral publication attributed to her, which claimed she lamented that many senior pastors in the church were unaware that her father established the RCCG and called for greater efforts to preserve his legacy.
She maintained that she neither made the comments nor endorsed them in any form, insisting that the statement circulating online did not originate from her.
According to her, her father was never driven by earthly recognition and would not have been concerned about whether his name or image was displayed on church buildings or institutions.
She explained that the greatest legacy left behind by the late cleric was the lives he impacted rather than physical structures, noting that he devoted his life to raising people instead of pursuing monuments.
Adewale further recalled that her father had little interest in acquiring personal property during his lifetime, arguing that it would be inconsistent to suggest he desired public recognition through buildings or memorials.
She alleged that the viral reports were aimed at stirring unnecessary controversy within the church, warning those responsible to desist from spreading false narratives capable of creating division among members.
The cleric's daughter also expressed support for the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, praying for divine wisdom, strength and continued guidance for him, his family and the church's leadership, while wishing members worldwide a successful annual convention.
