Nigeria is on the path to renewed greatness, a member of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Wing, Hon. Gloria Akobundu, has declared.
Akobundu made the declaration in Abuja while expressing support for the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the administration of President Bola Tinubu at the APC Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit.
The summit, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, attracted women leaders and grassroots mobilisers from across the country, with over 500 support groups reportedly merging into the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Wing ahead of the 2027 elections.
The groups, which organisers said represent millions of women voters, also endorsed President Tinubu for a second term and pledged to mobilise support for the APC across the six geopolitical zones.
Speaking with journalists at the event, Akobundu, who is also the Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians), backed the First Lady’s call for women to take the message of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to their communities.
Senator Tinubu had told the women that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0, themed “From Reforms to Prosperity”, was yielding results, citing economic reforms, support for farmers and access to student loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.
She urged the women to return to their respective states and mobilise support for the APC, stressing that the party must remain the focus of their political activities ahead of the 2027 elections. She also announced plans for zonal mega rallies across the country, culminating in a grand rally in Abuja.
The summit also featured the distribution of empowerment items, including tricycles, sewing machines, refrigerators and agricultural equipment to women. Akobundu urged the beneficiaries to deploy the items productively, describing them as tools for economic empowerment.
She further appealed to women voters, particularly in the South-East and other parts of the country, to support Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that continuity was necessary to consolidate the administration’s policies.
The gathering was attended by APC women leaders, First Ladies of APC-controlled states, state women leaders, faith-based mobilisers and grassroots organisers as the party intensifies its women mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
