The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Kolawole Babatunde, has urged eligible voters across the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards before the Independent National Electoral Commission’s deadline.
Babatunde made the call in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on New Media, Olawale Ijanusi, popularly known as Optimum, urging APC members and supporters to take advantage of the ongoing collection exercise.
He said collecting PVCs was essential for eligible citizens to participate in elections, urging them to visit designated INEC offices and collection centres in their respective local government areas and wards.
The APC chairman said the party’s target of securing one million votes for President Bola Tinubu and other candidates depended on effective grassroots mobilisation, voter education and the participation of eligible voters.
He urged party leaders, ward executives, youth and women groups, as well as other stakeholders, to intensify sensitisation campaigns across the state’s 18 local government areas to ensure that eligible residents collected their cards before the deadline.
Babatunde also linked civic participation to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s Ease Agenda, saying eligible voters should obtain their PVCs and exercise their democratic rights during elections.
He stressed that voter education and PVC collection should not be left to party officials alone, adding that eligible citizens had a collective responsibility to participate in the electoral process. He urged APC members to spread the message among their families, friends, neighbours and communities.
The chairman reaffirmed the Ondo APC’s commitment to grassroots mobilisation and democratic participation, urging residents to collect their PVCs promptly, while noting that participation in elections allows citizens to contribute to decisions affecting the state and the country.
