Covid-19: Suspected Patient who Absconded from Ondo Hospital Returns




The suspected COVID- 19 patient, who absconded from the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo, has returned to the hospital. Veracity learnt. 

It was earlier reported yesterday by the veracity, after the 4th positive case, announced by the state Governor on his official Twitter handle, that a suspected patient flees from the teaching hospital. 

The Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Oluwole Ige disclosed the return of the patient while addressing reporters in Ondo town.

According to the doctor, he said the patient has shown symptoms of the disease, stressing that his report is still being expected.

His words, “I can tell you that the patient has returned to the hospital. We are on top of the situation. He is still a suspected case.

“We are waiting for the result of the test conducted for him and two others.”


The patient, it was gathered, was admitted at the Accident and Emergency unit of the facility.

As of today, the state has recorded seven cases of COVID-19. 

The Governor today, said Three more suspects were recorded on Sunday morning out of which one of them is one of the four suspects standing trial for the murder of Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu announced this development on his Twitter handle.
