As Ondo State gubernatorial elections approach, the biblical injunction that "many were called but few are chosen" has begun to come into play.
Of the very many People's Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA), yesterday joined the chosen few who will proceed to the July primary elections.
Akingboye who arrived PDP's Alagbaka Secretariat amid cheers and jubilation by supporters, OBACO
Coordinators, convinced delegates, kinsmen from Ikale and cultural troup from his Owo maternal origin were graciously welcomed by the astonished State Working Committee (SWC) members.
Having secured the form, Engr. Clement Faboyede, State Caretaker Committee (SCC) Chairman, in his speech commended Akingboye for setting the pace of the ongoing gubernatorial campaign as well as his immense contribution to the party since inception.
Faboyede declared his conviction, beyond satisfaction of requirements, that Akingboye, like other aspirants is highly qualified to lead Ondo State and PDP through a New Dawn (Igba Otun) for the exalted Alagbaka Government Seat.
Otunba Akingboye, in his brief but loaded address re-affirmed his commitment to changing the narratives in Ondo State beginning from his profile as a candidate, his style of campaign, attitude to governance, his well thought out programmes and the positive turnaround of fortune for everyone.
The business tycoon is confident that after his 4 years in office, that songs of praise to God must have filled the State because a New Dawn (Igba Otun) had come.
