@60: Wake Up Nigeria By Adeola David

Freedom is not something we can be giving
Its rather something we have to take.
Wake up Nigeria; Freedom await you by
the other side of the river.
Stand up and defend your pride
and let's your land be once again
purified.

They ve killed you in your silence,
your blood flows across the street like a
flood of ocean, their voice pierce
through your heart, and you sober in
solitude

You have been too long at ease,
no more moon to sing lullaby to
your toddler, and your pride has
been chattered like a tattered flag

What have you done to suffer this neglect?
you serve them yet they refuse to give you milk,
even at the expense of that; you still sing
of their praises maybe they can show mercy
and give you a piece of cake, but yet they
increase your labour and your anguish become
a story untold

Is this how you wait, watch the swallow
swaying away your pride?!!
You belong to this palace
You belong to this animal kingdom
Why will you silent when your voice
can echo more than the trumpet!!!

Lets the spirit of our ancestor that
fought for your pride judge them,
they didn't sweat for this honour
but yet like a prodigal son they
squander what belong to us all.
Their lineage sings to the moon
while ours always await the moon
to sing for us,
even when, the moon laugh at us
our countenance wear a terrific look
because several moon would have gone
before we can smile not to talk of
waving at the moon.

Nigeria; where is the spirit of your ancestor,!!!
The spirit of Awoo, The Spirit of Azikiwe
The Spirit of those that fought for your pride let it stand and judge all this king of Triaobaz.

The zoonist spirit engulfed their heart
and they forget our oneness.
With one word, one strength, one force
we can defeat them, wake up Nigeria.
