Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has commended the Chairman, Governing Council Board of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Dr. Banji Alabi for his prudent leadership and management of funds released to the institution since assumption of office.
Akeredolu gave the commendation at the commissioning of some state funded capital projects in the institution which include the Rectory, the Registry, the Bursary, RUGIPO 103.3 FM radio station as well as Kabiyesi Oba Gbadegesin Ajibade Ogunoye III Market complex.
The governor affirmed that he is proud of Banji Alabi and his wonderful council members in driving his vision for the development of the institution and by his performance was recommended for a chieftaincy title from any of the Obas in Owo community for being an asset.
Governor Akeredolu also commended the Management team for good performance, particularly to the Rector of the institution- Mr. Gani Ogundahunsi for using his personal connection with tetfund to attract funds to the institution.
While delivery his address, the council board chair said "when we came into office, we took some important steps in line with Mr governor’s mandate; to Retool, Reconstruct & Reposition Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) and make it a leading research institute committed to improving the human condition through advanced science and technology. Your Excellency the journey has been very long, rough and very hard, but God saw us through".
In his vote of thanks, the rector of the school appreciated the Gov for offering them leadership and support - ditto the Governing Council members.
Highlight of the event include presentation of cultural sword to the governor for a victorious life while the chairman of council received the Owo traditional attire for offering good leadership in RUGIPO.
