Freedom in Jeopardy By Adeola David

It was a festival of feast, when the hero of this land brought liberty to our door step, the aged feel relieved when they saw the flag waved in the sky, the youth muscled, echoed and rejoiced in accord, even the fetus at that time rejoiced in its sack.

The men in camo stay awake and laughed for the first time like a baby sucking nipples. All fingers dashed for flutes and timbres, the drummers set a dramatic circle for the dancer, and all hands rejoiced.

The unity that give birth to this freedom undoubtedly become the beginning of our freedom in jeopardy, the milk that flourished in the land those days has been sabotage and now its fortune has transformed to history, history is now turning to myths. The beginning of our unsuccessful success, unfixed freedom, marks the origin of our pains, suffering, insecurity, agony, pain and corrupt practices ravaging in our society today.

No more noble man to appeals the gods, no more sanity in our land, we go to bed every night with our eyes open not because we refuse to answer the call of nature but because lot of thought often pierce into our heart every night like an adult waiting for circumcision.

The aged are too weak to tell the story because the more they witness draconian ruling the more they sober in solitude. Where is our freedom?, though we attained our freedom six decade ago, but our freedom is in jeopardy.

We are left out like a disarmed soldier in the battle field. We both own this land, but they have claimed our inheritance; they eat all our food and serve their dog the remnant, our body becomes pale at teen, we are sick, tired and battered because our freedom is in jeopardy.
