 By Adeboye Ado, Akure

The Chief Imam of Ikare Akoko, who doubles as the Head of League of Imams, Sheikh Abbas  Abubakar Mohamed, on thursday, urged Government at all levels to as a matter of necessity introduce a comprehensive poverty alleviation scheme for disabled persons in  their annual budgets.

The Muslim Cleric also charged non religious institutions' to channel their welfare packages towards the less privileged in society adding that such good gesture would be recognized by God.

Mohammed  disclosed these during his sermon as the world celebrates International Day of  Persons with Disabilities, yesterday.

According to him, God cherishes people with large heart, who extend stimulus packages to those suffering from  dire poverty.

He warned uncaring individuals in communities against subjecting the physically challenged to cruel treatment.

Speaking on the spate of rising insecurity ravaging the nation, the Muslim scholar urged Nigerians to fervently pray against slack security architecture, highway robbery, brigandage and general anarchy.
