Varsity withdraws student whose parent hurled insult at Pro-Chancellor

The management of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State has withdrawn the studentship of one of its undergraduates over an alleged insults hurled by her parent at the Pro-Chancellor of the citadel of higher learning, Dr. Bode Ayorinde.

The second year student of Nursing Science whose identitiy was not disclosed, was said to have performed woefully in three courses, which infuriated her parents to allege foul play.

The mother of the girl was said to have sent a provocative message to the Pro Chancellor via whatsapp, demanding the rationale behind her daughter's failure.

Mr. Ayorinde revealed the ugly incident in his remarks during the induction of new graduate nurses of the Institution on Monday.

Meanwhile,  he responded to the query:

" I replied, and I said perhaps you wanted to buy a certificate but we don't sell, If you want to buy certificate go elsewhere"

He added that: "We have asked the students to withdraw for indiscipline of her parents.

"She will not only withdraw, I have asked the Bursary to refund her two-year fees, which is 100 and 200 levels"

The former House of Representative member said the Institution impacts knowledge, adding that the school would not lower its academic standards because of any students.

He, however, urged the new graduates to emulate the exemplifying integrity of Achievers University.
