A poor mum of four gives birth again - this time around to a set triplets, a bundle she cannot handle. Hence, she's sending a Save Our Souls appeal to both government and compassionate private sector.
The rare miracle of natural multiple birth of three lovely kids occurred in Ikaram, a small town in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The petty trader, Mrs. Fatima Yusuf and her peasant husband took delivery of the wonder babies, in addition to the four young mouths already in the care of their lean pockets!
The pleasantly surprised couple is, therefore, appealing to the State Government, charitable organisations and philanthropic individuals to assist in weaning the starlets
"We thank God for his blessing, yet we appeal to the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and other well meaning Nigerians, as matter of necessity, to come to our rescue and save the kids from dying prematurely," lamented the confused mother of seven.
When our correspondent visited Ikaram to assess the condition of the babies, it was learnt that the triplets have been referred to Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for comprehensive care.
The woman who is a petty-trader explained that medical bills, wares and feeding of the new born babies have plunged her into depression.
The paramount ruler of the community, Akala of Ikaram, Oba Andrew Momodu, congratulated the parents of the triplets for the successful delivery in his domain, and pledged that the community will help in taking care of the newborns.
A nurse, Femi Omojola who midwifed the trio at the Community Health Centre Ikaram, disclosed that the weight of the babies are 3.4, 3.2 and 3.5 kilograms respectively.
The Primary Health Care Coordinator in the Local Government, Dr. Barnabas Aliu, commended the medical team for their effectiveness and efficiency, despite odds.
He, however, urged members of the public to voluntarily donate health facilities to all neighboring health centre lacking modern equipment.
