IWARO YOUTHS COUNCIL PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE OLUBAKA OF OKA LAND
- Appreciates Monarch For Given Grand Support To Oka Barricade.
The leadership of Iwaro Youths Council yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Kabiyesi Olubaka of Oka land, Oba (Dr.) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye to thank and appreciate him, His Olori and the entire Oka Chiefs-In Council for given top priority to the security of lives and properties of all in Oka.
Recall that early this year, the Kabiyesi Olubaka of Oka land gave a nod for the re-erection of barricade in Oka land for the security of lives and properties of all residents of Oka after all pressures and overtures made to Government across all levels to construct an alternative route for articulated trucks plying Oka road, as these heavy duty trucks more often than not fail brake at the hilly parts of Oka in the process losing control and veering into residential buildings and businesses of Oka people - killing scores and destroying means of livelihood.
Since the barricade was re-mounted, the city of Oka have not recorded a single casualty which is a product of sincere, efficient and effective management which of course couldn't have been possible without Royal support, Palace backup and blessings.
While speaking at the event, the President of Iwaro Youths Council Com. Austin Bolorunduro who thanked the Kabiyesi and the entire Oka Chiefs-in-Council for the great and laudable initiatives said the youths felt the appreciation is very much in order because firstly, Iwaro been the softspot and receiving end of such casualties in Oka; our people can now go to sleep with thier two eyes closed. And that the efforts of the duo of the Youth leader of Oka, Com. Olabode Adeniyi and the President of Akoko South West Youth Forum Com. Ajayi Danjuma among other selfless Youths is appreciated for the day to day management of the barricade despite not been convinient for them.
Augustine Bolorunduro however assured the Kabiyesi that all efforts of some misguided Youths who want to hijack the place for the purpose of self-aggrandizement will be greatly resisted by the Youths. Never again shall we return to the old dark age where thuggery and anarchy reigned supreme in our land. The Vice President of the Youths Council Mrs Pelumi Kayode also lend her voice that security personnel should be updated on the activities of those misguided Youths.
While responding the Youth leader of Oka Com. Bode Adeniyi, Com. Ajayi Danjuma and Chief Balogun said while they appreciate the Iwaro Youths Council for the laudable step, they also encouraged the Youths that the effective management of the barricade is the duty of all Oka Youths most importantly our Youths from Iwaro axis. That the activities of some misguided Youths should be greatly checked.
The Kabiyesi Olubaka of Oka land who was delighted to receive the Youths also appreciated the Youths for coming. He said the security of lives and properties of all his subjects and residents of Oka cannot be over-emphasized as the carnage been recorded in Oka is no respecter of anybody be you king or subject as anyone can be a victim. He reminded the Youths that the people of Akoko South West, most importantly Oka lost the first female Local Government Chairperson late Lady Ope Adefarati to those old days of horror.
The monach said the effective and efficient management of the barricade remains his topmost priority, as the Palace is readily available to give the Youths necessary support needed for the barricade to remain standing. Kabiyesi also sieze the opportunity to thank greatly members of Iwaro Youths Council for the road rehabilitation done recently. He said the initiative was a demonstration that Oka Youths are not lazy Youths. And that the initiative is a pace setter for Youths of neighboring towns.
The Kabiyesi who once again demonstrated his fatherly love, took the Youths to the multimillion naira ultramodern Benjamin Bakery just constructed inside the palace where the Olori is the Chief Executive Officer. The Youths were treated to a nice time with some delicious loaves of bread and soft drinks. The Olori who thanked and welcomed the Youths to Benjamin Bakery said the initiative, aside given Oka residents and beyond quality bread for breakfast, was also borne out of efforts to reduce unemployment among Youths of Oka.
