Apprehension enveloped the town of Epinmi in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State over the demise of the Gbiri of Epinmi, Oba. Ade Oyekan.
A palace source who preferred anonymity disclosed that the Monarch passed on at University of Ife Teaching Hospital on Christmas day.
The source said, “he was rushed to Ipe Akoko General hospital from where he was subsequently transferred to Federal Medical Centre Owo”
“Later he was reffered to University of Ile-Ife Teaching Hospital where he died”
Until his death, Oba. Oyekan was the Chairman of Akoko South East Local Government Traditional Council, and a staunch member of the African Church.
He has since been buried according to Yoruba Tradition and Custom.
