A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs Omowumi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole has donated food items and other materials to the correctional home in Akure.

Presenting the items on Sunday in Akure, Olatunji-Ohwovoriole, the founder of MyChoice Group, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), said that the donation was to give back to the society and ensure a better life for the underprivileged in society.

The APC chieftain, who was a former Commissioner of Women Affairs in the state, explained that her visit to the home was part of her Christmas activities for widows, the vulnerable and the underprivileged.

Olatunji-Ohwovoriole admonished the children in the correctional home to be of good character and moral at all times.

“You all need to display positive attitude, despite your present circumstances. There is hope for your future,” she said.

Items donated are: cartons of noodle, packs of fruit juice, toiletries and bags of rice among others.

In their separate remarks, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Julianah Osadahun and the Administrative Secretary of the Home, Mrs Foluke Adaramola, appreciated the donor for the kind gesture.

Adaramola said that the support to the correctional home would go a long way in providing for the needs of the children.
