The Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba (AAUA), Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has congratulated the entire staff and students of the University on the unique occasion of celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The VC, who felicitated with the publics of the Institution in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, called for the demonstration of Christ-love by giving out widow's mite to less privileged
The Don said, “It has pleased the Almighty God to allow you and I to witness another Easter celebration. As you are aware, Easter is symbolic as it marks the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ which occurs three days after his crucifixion”
“I, therefore, on behalf of the Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, congratulate the entire staff and students of the University on this unique occasion of celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ”
“As Easter commemorates the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, who demonstrated selfless love by yielding to the divine will when he laid down His life to reconcile us back to our maker, I encourage you all to imbibe and display Christ's ideals of love, selflessness, perseverance and compassion in all your endeavours”
“There is no better time than this challenging period to demonstrate the Christ-like love to one another by sharing whatever the Lord has provided for us”
In the same vein, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Prof. Emmanuel Fasakin, urged christians to earnestly pray for the country so as to overcome the prevailing challenges bedeviling it.
Fasakin stated this in his Easter message, while he maintained that Christian faithful must identify with the needy.
“I seize this auspicious moment to warmly congratulate and felicitate with our Christain Brothers and Sisters in Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ondo State and Nigeria at large on the observance of this year's Easter celebration”
“The humble birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, His teachings and subsequent travails and death should be a lesson for all of us that, there is a season for everything and that whatever we do while on earth would be remembered after our passage”
“Let us in conformity with Christ's teachings, be submissive to God Almighty, radiate love , peace , humility and be a source of happiness, rather than sorrow, to the less privileged and the needy in our Society”, he said.
