2023: Don't betray Tinubu, Group begs APC

Going by the body language and the latest statement of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mallam Abdullah Adamu on Zoning and related happenings, the Disciples of Jagaban says it has become necessary to sound a note of caution to the party, the National Chairman, President Muhammadu Buhari and major stakeholders to prevent consequential implosion should the party voluntarily move to betray Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It must be noted that Tinubu/Buhari remains the only link that binds us together in APC, others are pretenders. We know how Asiwaju factor liberated and united the North with the South, after former President Goodluck Jonathan sharply divided it, using religious sentiments.

We know how the party was formed and how it has been sustained. We know who helped President Buhari win the primary in 2015 and and how he was reelected in 2019,  We know how Tinubu and his 'boys', were recalled (after abandonment) to rescue the party from the stronghold of the land grabbers before returning the party to the path of sanity.

Those of us from the South but who currently live in the North from the past thirty years still cannot understand why truth has become the sacrificial lamp in the affairs of our country. We urge the party leaders to fear God, be honest and be sincere in all they they do, so that God could also meet their demands at the point of need.

We have seen those who know within themselves they could not get up to 10 votes at the Convention buying forms with the intent to disorganise the system and frustrate the ambition of the most capable, most qualified, and most deserving aspirant - Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

We are not unaware that the beneficiaries of the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan who were milking the country are in the forefront of the battle to stop Tinubu. According to them, it's not Buhari that stopped or remove the feeding bottle from their mouths, it was Tinunu. Tinubu made it possible for Buhari to win election after three failed attempts, hence, Jagaban cannot be forgiven. They wish to take their pound of flesh from him!

I call on our party members again, let's reason politically. If the opposition has the right to oppose Tinubu, how do we explain the attitude and disposition of members of the ruling party who are behaving as if they were jinxed - from the Vice President to the jokers, the jesters and the pretenders among the presidential aspirants, constituting road block to the most qualified candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu.

It is our plea that those who feel offended by Tinubu, because of one reason or another must create a space in their hearts to forgive him in the overall interest of our party. What must be stressed is that many of us in APC aren't just supporting Tinubu without reasons.

To start with Tinubu, as a governor of Lagos State, remained the best governor in Nigeria during his tenure

He knows what good governance is all about, and he understands the needs of Nigerians. He has the knowledge of our problems, be it human, material, local or imported, and he knows how to handle them.

Tinubu is a Progressive mind to the core. He had  done it before. He has been doing it, he is not just telling us he will do it! And that is why those who are benefiting from Nigerian crises do not want him. They know too well that the man who handled Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in presidency and outside the presidency will handle them roundly.

To party members and the entire Nigerians, we must not follow the enemies of Jagaban blindly or out of sentiments, because we are the ones who always suffer from the system failure and the shenanigans of the politicians; we must not allow oursrlves to be used against the friend of the masses.

Let's note that:

1, If we unjustly deny Tinubu the ticket of the APC, Afenifere, other tribal irredentists, as well as other enemies of the nation will celeberate it, and would have succeeded in cajoling the minds of innocent Nigerians, shifting attention to themselves. They want to be justified that after all, "we warned Tinubu that he will be betrayed; that the Hausa-Fulanis are never to be trusted with power, but he and he co-travelers rose against us, saying no, they won't".

2, If Tinubu is 'rubbished' and 'disgraced' in 2023, it will be difilcult to rebuild another trust within the North (not just Northwest) and the Southern Nigeria. Remember, many of us in the Southwest - your foot soldiers - risked everything by rising against the so called Yoruba Nation agitators, under the platform of the Yoruba Welfare Group acroos the Yoruba land, despite the fact that we know how dangerious thay are; the same way some wonderful and relentless Progressives in the Southeast stood firm with Buhari/Tinubu alliance despite IPOB killings and maimings.

3, If any delegates gives his vote to any other candidate in Yoruba land against Tinubu, that delegate may indirectly be supporting and promoting bigotry and division in Yoruba land,

4, Any delegate in the rulling party that is planing to deny Tinubu his or her vote, is indirectly denying justice aganist the National Leader who have sacrificed the most for the party.

5, There will no longer be wind in our sail. We shall be left without any credible facts from our end to convince our people who are cynical about One united Nation, and one indivisible Nigeria. This is because some of us who led the battle against the divisionists will be outrightly shamed, and our critics justified.

6, If we bettray Tinubu, it means Nigerian leaders collectively paid back evil to good. We can't continue to politicise everything as we all need Almighty God hands in everything we do doing in Nigeria. Betrayal is evil, it invites the wrath of God on any party or nation that engages in it.

7. Currently, the DOJ worldwide and the entire Yoruba Welfare Group have adopted Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our sole candidate in order to avoid 'divide and rule' in the Southwest.

We are therefore pleading to all potential delegates from President Muhammad Buhari to the Ward Chairmen to give their vote to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu without any form of compromise.

Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje,
National Coordinator
Disciples of Jagaban
