Otunba Adeniran Oyebade, a senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed downright dissatisfaction over the outcome of the party's shadow election conducted in the Central Senatorial District of Ondo State.
Expressing his grouse about the way at which the primary election was conducted, Oyebade alleged that fake and unregistered party members were allowed to vote in the election.
He, therefore, called for a fresh election, immediate arrest and prosecution of those who orchestrated the irregularities that marred the election.
The party chieftain stated these while addressing newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to him, he said other aspirants were on the same page with him over the abnormalities.
He argued that since what played out was conspicuously against the electoral act and the APC constitution, hence, the need to seek redress becomes imperative.
The USA based politician said, "they just invited us to come and watch them perfect their plans. I have no issues with the winner at the primaries but I disagree with the process starting from the selection of 5 delegates. They went as far as inducing delegates. Voting is a civic responsibility, it is not a responsibility that you induced to perform".
“I felt that the APC members could bring together and fix things by expunging the bad eggs. There's no way it can be better and if we don't speak out, such conduct will repeat itself” he said.
