It was all pomp and pageantry last weekend when the Brigadier General of The African lads brigade and The African Lasses Brigade Nigeria and Overseas, CSP. Oni Abraham Odunlami, bowed out after a 5-year stint at the paramilitary service.
Odunlami, a retired Police officer who piloted the affairs of the Brigade lately, has been described by many as a unifier and bridge-builder.
Our correspondent learnt that while Odunlami held sway, he was downrightly averse to laxity and licentiousness behaviors.
At the farewell ceremony organized for the erstwhile Brigade Boss, held at Govt College Ibadan, Odunlami implored his successor, Bro. Micheal Akinsola, to be just and imbibe, burnish the kernel of hardwork.
Advising members of the brigade, Odunlami said, “I want you all to cooperate with the new BG., African Church is growing higher than before. The church is recording an inimitable feats”
In his response, the incoming Brigadier General of African Lads and Lasses Brigade, Bro. Oluyomi Akinsola, extolled the virtues of Odunlami, while he promised to take the ecclesiastical association to enviable height.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Command Boss, Comr. Abiola Egandayo, walked down the aisle last Saturday at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Iye in Iro, Ekiti State.
The highly respected Comr. Abiola married Temitope, just as an array of prominent personalities graced the event to catch a glimpse of the epoch making nuptial ceremony.
Revelers from nook and cranny of the Sunshine State, it was gathered, were taken aback by the colourful ceremony.
In his words of appreciation, Comr. Egandayo said: “No amount of kindness, benevolence and tenderness should be fiddled away; it is imperative, on this note, to express my heartfelt gratitude to almighty God who made yesterday a very special day in my life”
“Nevertheless, I want to thank you for your invaluable help and humanitarian encouragement aimed at bringing my age-long vision into a reality. Without you, how would it be possible to reach the nuptial firmament?”
“Thank you once again for making the mirage a reality, your gesture will remain evergreen in our memories and also slide into the sand of history for posterity sake”
