Be objective in your reportage —Aremu tells Media Professionals


Media Professionals need to uphold objectivity ,ethical standards, and professionalism before, during and after the coming general election, as a way of setting development agenda for Nigeria.


Chairman, Radio, Television, Theatre Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Ibadan Southwest, Zonal Station,Comrade Feyisola Aremu gave the charge while speaking with Pensioners FM after a courtesy visit on  General Manager of the station, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu.

According to Comrade Aremu, it was the fundamental responsibility of the media to ensure that democracy stands the test of time without any form of compromise, prejudice and hatred in their reportage.


Comrade Aremu stressed the need for media professionals to be more thorough and ensure adequate verification of the information they push out for public consumption to guide against misinformation.


The Trade Unionist also tasked owners of media outfits to make the welfare of their workers a top priority in order to encourage efficiency, commitment and professionalism.

Responding Pensioners' FM General Manager Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu who appreciated Comrade Aremu and team of executives for the visit, assured the union of the station's preparedness to give various stakeholders in next year's general election opportunity to express themselves through unbiased reportage of events.

Comrade Aremu was accompanied on the visit by the Vice Chairman, Comrade Habeeb Adedapo and Public Relations Officer, Comrade Babatunde Imam.
