2023: Ignore religious sentiments, consider service delivery-Akinlaja urges voters to support Tinubu

A socialite, Mr Alaba  Akinlaja, has thrown his weight behind the presidential  candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, asking electotate to ignore religious  sentiments and focus on performance

Akinlaja stated this on Sunday during a media engagement in Akure .

He tasked supporters of the party and Nigerians at large to look beyond religious and ethnic considerations and focus on performance, credibility and pedigree of the presidential candidate of the party and what his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima possessed.

"Asiwaju Tinubu is eminently qualified to be Nigeria’s President because of the confidence people have in him, having distinguished himself during his eight years as Lagos Governor as well as contributions to national  politics in the last three decades,” Akinlaja said

According to him, what should be paramount in the minds of Nigerians is someone who can develop the country, rather than engaging in religious sentiments.

"The presidential candidate and his Vice Presidential candidate have shown capacity, comptence, proficiency and  prowess during their stint as governors of their various states,”  Akinlaja said.

Akinlaja, a businessman cum politician,  expressed dismay that religious sentiments had debarred the country  as a nation to occupy its place of pride in the comity of nations.

He explained that what the country should be yearning for was a strong , virile economy and good governance, which the duo of Tinubu and Shettima would provide for the country if elected.

He added that Tinubu and Shettima would do much more in order to bring succour to the citizenry by bringing an end to the multi-faceted challenges bedeviling the country
