Residents of Ilekun-Oda in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, have passionately appealed to Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu over the deplorable condition of the access road in the area.
The residents who spoke with our correspondent, said, admitted that the Governor had creditably performed in the reconstruction of some impassable roads in state, but lamented the outright neglect of the Ilekun-Oda road.
A resident, Oyeleke Emmanuel, who decried the abysmal condition of the road, urged the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Raimi Aminu, as matter of urgency, to consider the milieu in the scheme of reconstruction ongoing in the State.
Another resident who simply identified himself as Samson said, "We give kudos to Aketi Administration for many Akure roads that that have been earmarked for construction”
“However, we are worried and sad by the deplorable state eour road, particularly Ilekun-Oda road. Our vehicles have been damaged, it is difficult to drive through the dungeon”
“Okada riders have neglected our area due to the bad road. We beg our talk and do Governor to visit the area for self assessment”
As at press time, efforts to get the reaction of the Commisoner for Works, Engr. Raimi Aminu, proved abortive.
