Rev. Canon Samuel Daniyan, alongside 13 other clergymen of The African Church were on Sunday, elevated to the status of Venerable at The African Church Christ Cathedral, Oka-Akoko, in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
This medium understands that the revered title— Venerable, is bestowed on Ministers of God in some orthodox churches, and the qualified men of God are saddled with the responsibility of assisting the Bishop.
In his incisive homily, the Rt. Rev. D. O Akinremi, advised the newly elevated Ministers to be the eyes of their Bishops, represent them well and imbibe the kernel of hard work.
Akinremi who explained that it was imperative for them to toe the line of altruism and live aboveboard while discharging their ecclesiastical duties, noted the men of God must meticulously engage in aggressive evangelism in view of the prevailing permissiveness already reaching the extreme in the society.
Bishop Akinremi said, “you are the eyes of the Bishops so you are expected to represent your Bishops well. You are now national officers qualified to attend church conferences”
He added: “I learnt my own lessons in the hard way”
While advising against the usage of search engine, most especially Google to prepare sermon, the Preacher urged Pastors to seek God's guidance, maintaining that message to be delivered on the pulpit must devoid heresy.
Speaking on the sidelines of event, Venerable Daniyan expressed gratitude to God for making the day a reality.
“Right now I’m really grateful to God for the gift of life”
“To everyone, God is turning that situation around for your good. No matter the report of the enemy concerning your life, the report of the lord says – he’s turning everything in your favour.”
