As part of the activities lined up to mark the 50th anniversary of Oroke High School Akungba (OHSA), in the Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, a N500 million endowment fund will be launched by former students of the school.
The introduction of the fund, according to the old students, is chiefly intended to rehabilitate moribund structures and also build modern computer information facilities in the school.
Dr. Ibiyemi Kereke-Ekun, National President of OHSA, who spoke at a press briefing in Akungba, said the fund would go along way to return the centre of learning to its former glory.
He said, "It is our opinion that whatever amount we are able to realise here will be channelled into developmental projects within the school.
"We are looking a construction
, reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructural facilities as well ad equip the school with modern internet and computer information facilities available anywhere in the world.
"We want to make a bold move and give back to the school that taught us how to fish and become great fishermen and women. "
