Member House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Abiola Peter Makinde, representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency has bagged a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Management at Igbinedion University, Okada.
After successful thesis defence, Hon Makinde is now set to be awarded his PhD degree which he described as a milestone achievement for him.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alli Moshood, Hon Makinde said, "I appreciate the Almighty for the successful completion of this degree. I appreciate my wife, Dr Rhoda Makinde, a PhD holder herself, for her steadfastness and an unrelenting support system. I deeply thank her, members of my family and everyone else who was instrumental in achieving this great success.
My motivation to reach this height in my academics is borne out of my zeal and unending passion for learning and education. This same passion also enabled me to support a number of my constituents to study in different institutions around the world including Norway, Sweden, UK, India, Cyprus, USA most of whom have now completed their MsC.
Asides this, I have also contributed immensely to the growth of Education in my constituency by building several blocks of classrooms, innumerable scholarships, distribution of learning enhancement gadgets and above all, rehabilitation of several schools.
However, it doesn't end here, learning never ends despite this feat. This degree will surely encourage me to oversee that a lot more of my followers attain this enviable height as well.
I also use this medium to appreciate my friends, business associates and Honorable colleagues at the National Assembly as well as my supporters and constituents. May we all be celebrated", Hon Makinde concluded.
As announced by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye PhD, FAS on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate and Management of Igbinedion University Okada through the Registar, convocation for the 20th set of graduands is slated for Friday, 11th November and Saturday, 12th November, 2022.
The events hold at the University Main Auditorium, Main Campus, Okada by 11am daily.
