After spending three grueling days at kidnappers' den, the abductors of Oba Clement Jimoh Olukotun, the Oloso of Oso-Ajowa in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State, have demanded a whooping sum of 100m to secure release of the Monarch.
The kidnappers contacted the family of the victim, it was learnt.
Veracity had earlier reported that Oba Jimoh was abducted on Thursday at about 10.15 pm at his residence by some unknown men who whisked him away after they shot sporadically.
They also shot at the monarch’s main door to gain access into his abode.
The ugly incident has since left the agrarian community in a pensive mood.
According to locals, residents of the community gathered in groups, discussing in hushed tone on the tragic incident.
A community leader, Mr Soji Ogedengbe, disclosed that an interdenominational prayers, fasting, and vigils were ongoing as part of the community's efforts of getting the kidnapped monarch released.
“Efforts are still ongoing to rescue the victim”, the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, disclosed.
