Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a political analyst, Pastor Atunbi-Amodu David, has projected into the future and concluded that only the emergence of competent and serious-minded leaders remain the sole panacea to which the country could come out of its extant economic realities.
He said the economic woes which brought untold hardship on Nigerians was caused by those at the helms of affairs with modicum of experience on how to steer the economy to a productive state.
He also averred that the emergence of top notch leaders in the forthcoming elections would identify and solve the bureaucratic bottlenecks associated with governance as well as return Nigeria to its abode of prosperity.
The renowned Surveyor and Lawyer disclosed these in an exclusive interview with our Correspondent on Sunday.
Atunbi who bemoaned and painted the vivid picture of the nation, lamented that the system was dysfunctional and not progressing leaps and bounds as expected by denizens, adding that the youths need to wake up to the perennial problem by electing the right leaders.
He said, “It is somewhat disheartening that we have crops of incompetent and unjust leaders piloting the affairs of polity. Nigeria should have progressed above its present calamitous state.
“We need new set of leaders that have an air of gravitas that command respect, we are growing tired of dearth of experience which forms the hallmark of our elected leaders”
“It is high time our youths realize this
quadrennial quagmire and come up with a multifaceted approach with a view to tackling the challenges”
“For instance, If am opportuned to represent my people either at the National Assembly or Ondo State House Assembly, I will engage more youths so as to nip lure of lucre in the bud”
“I will also canvass for holistic change. however I urge our youths to x-ray all Presidential candidates and ink their thumbs for the competent one.
