The South West Youth Parliament wishes to reiterate, to the youths within the South West Region, the need for not forgetting the importance of making all voices heard by voting in the 2023 General elections, as well as adding our voices to the chorus that forms opinions and the basis for actions in the coming Government of our dear nation. "Every election is determined by the people who show up” – (Larry J. Sabato).
However, as a basic obligation we jointly owe our dear country as well as ourselves, and in a march towards wanting to reflect the values and wishes for Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as a people; we should not put away the responsibilities of peacefully electing our leaders as a duty we should perform with utmost sense of obligation, nationalism, love and passion which inspires one to serve one's country which should not be jeopardized.
The Parliament and her leadership is equally calling for a trouble-free exercise devoid of any election violence which would beget a peaceful election and electoral results at the end of the day.
Consequently, The South West Youth Parliament's position remains unbiased, but with;
Advocation for choosing leaders who will keep jobs in our country for our youths by offering both government and private establishments incentives to hire across the country, so as to reduce the rate of unemployments, not one who allows corporations to outsource jobs for cheaper labour when there is a national employment crisis.
Choosing leaders who will invest in building bridges, not walls. Books, not weapons. Morality, not corruption. Intellectualism/wisdom, not ignorance. Stability, not fear and terror. Peace, not chaos. Love, not hate. Convergence, not segregation. Tolerance, not discrimination. Fairness, not hypocrisy. Character, not immaturity. Transparency, not secrecy. Justice, not lawlessness. Environmental improvement/preservation, not destruction. Truth, not lies, as fitted in The Writings of Suzy Kassem.
