A few days before the general election, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for Akoko South West and Akoko South East Federal Constituency, Adeyeri Stephen Kunle, has promised not to playdown on youth empowerment, saying the empowerment will be his topmost priority if elected.
The Labour Party candidate made this known yesterday during his campaign tour to Isua, Ile-labo, Ipesi, Sosan, Ifira in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Apart from the aforementioned areas, Adeyeri who is a business magnate, has been visiting rural areas as part of his quest to emerge victorious in the forthcoming election.
Adeyeri who acknowledged the assiduous efforts of the serving and past representatives, vowed to empower youths so as to curb lure of lucre and other vices troubling the nation.
Addressing party supporters and ardent loyalists on Monday, Adeyeri said he was awestruck by a sizable number of youths who apparently exhibited unfeigned support for him, adding that the ugly narratives will change if elected into the Lower Chamber.
In the gathering densely populated with youths, Adeyeri persuaded them to eschew violence and vote for Labour Party in the February 25 general election.
“Please vote for me, don't fight, even if they try to stoke violence, stay away from them and ensure you vote with the right Finger, because this is the ripe time”, Adeyeri said.
At the gathering peopled with enthusiastic supporters, the party Local Government Chairman, Elder Arise, declared that all and sundry in the neck of woods, had key into Adeyeri's philosophical mantra, which he said, aligned with that of the Labour Party.
Arise also urged the people to shun deceptive politicians using money to buy votes, while he described the alleged politicians as anti-democratic leaders who placed their interest above the constituency.
However, a staunch party member, Ayenigbara Patricia, expressed optimism, assuring Adeyeri that LP will come out victorious in the election.
