"WE REJECT THE OKITIPUPA CONSTITUENCY 2 HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTION RESULTS" BEING A TEXT OF PRESS STATEMENT BY HON. KOLAWOLE OMOTUNDE, PDP CANDIDATE ON 22ND MARCH 2023
Warrm greetings from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). It is very appropriate to begin this statement by appreciating our loyal party members, conscientious leaders and teeming supporters in Okitipupa Constituency 2 for deeming it fit to support me in the just concluded state assembly elections.
We are aware of the disappointments emanating from serious compromise, betrayals, manipulation and massive rigging ranging from over voting; fictitious Bvas accreditation; election results falsification; vote buying; Inducements of INEC staff and security; inflation of results; voters suppression, and many others especially in Okitipupa Ward 2 and Ayeka Igbodigo ward in favour of the All Progressives Congress candidate by the Independent National Electoral Commsion (INEC).
While appealing for calm among our supporters, we challenge that:
INEC should come out clean to the whole world of this compromise and manipulation allegation.
We demand explanation on why results are yet to be uploaded on Irev up till this moment.
We also wish to warn that INEC's ongoing attempt to tamper with Bvas as cover up will be serioulsy resisted.
As the candiate of the PDP, I am in consultation with party leaders and stakeholders and we are taking strategic steps to ensure that this injustice doesn't go unchecked.
We assure you that we will reclaim our mandate.
