The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation in Nigeria has urged President Bola Tinubu to engage youths in his programmes and policies for rapid development of Nigeria.
Its National Coordinator, Mr Roqib Akinyemi, said this on Tuesday in Akure at a news conference heralding the 49th National Convention of the group.
Veracity reports that the convention tagged: “Upholding the Institution of Khilafah through Activation of Nizam-e-Jama’at”, will hold between June 8 and June 11 at Imade College, Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
Akinyemi stated that no country could develop without its youthful category being carried along.
He added that youths are backbone of development of any nation that is sincere, therefore, asking the government to carry out effective youth empowerment programmes.
The national coordinator said that the Tinubu-led administration should explore intellect, knowledge, vigour and other resources in the country’s youths to achieve the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of the administration.
Akinyemi said that Nigeria could not afford to continue to lose its youthful strength to foreign countries and illegitimate means.
He asked the president to live by promises made to the populace, saying that there should be justice for all stakeholders in the country.
According to him, the organisation has been the leading voice in the spread of true Islamic teachings, moral training, humanitarian services, and peaceful coexistence among adherents of all faiths.
“Annually, the youth wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria, MKAN, come together for national convention with delegates from all states and local government areas of Nigeria to enhance their relationship, love and brotherhood toward one another.
“By extension, the convention equally provides the opportunity to extend our hands of friendship and humanity to our host community as taught by the beautiful teachings of Islam.
“The theme underscores the significance of preserving and promoting the concept of Khilafah and the role of Nizam-e-Jama’at in society.
“The convention aims to deepen the participants’ understanding of principles and inspire them to play an active role in their implementation within the Muslim community,” he stated.
According to Akinyemi, the primary purpose of creation is to serve the Creator, who is Allah and that every human being also has responsibility to serve humanity and give back to the community.
He promised that the convention would be a memorable event, filled with a wide range of educational, sporting, and intellectual activities.
“Participants should look forward to engaging in enlightening sessions, including lectures to be delivered by esteemed scholars.
“These lectures will cover various topics related to the theme, providing valuable insights and guidance to attendees.
“Additionally, the convention will feature sporting activities, enabling participants to showcase their talents, foster camaraderie, and promote a healthy lifestyle,” he said.
He urged those who were interested in promoting peace, spirituality and unity to attend the event which he described as an inclusive one.
“It provides a unique opportunity for attendees to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences and learn from one another,” he said.
