The Ondo State House of Assembly has commiserated with the family of the former Secretary to Ondo State Government, Mr Ifedayo Abegunde, over the death of his father, Chief Williams Abegunde, who died at the age of 100 years.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, with other lawmakers paid a condolence visit to the family house of the deceased on Saturday in Akure, describing late Williams Abegunde as a man of discipline who surrendered his entire life for God and humanity.
According to the speaker, the visit was to celebrate with the former SSG over the demise of his father who had lived a purposeful and fulfilled life while on earth.
Responding, the former SSG, appreciated the speaker and other lawmakers for finding time for the visit, saying it was a show of love.
In another development, the lawmakers also paid a condolence visit to the family of Bashorun Sehinde Arogbofa, one of the leaders of Afenifere, over the demise of his wife, late Mrs Olukemi Arogbofa, aged 75.
Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers, the speaker described the late wife of the elder statesman as a lover of all, adding that she would be greatly missed for the impactful and good life she lived.
Oladiji, however, prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
Expressing appreciation to the lawmakers for the visit, Arogbofa described the death of his wife as a rude shock.
According to him, his late wife lived a fulfilled and righteous life, saying she would be greatly missed.
