3 docked for allegedly receiving stolen vehicle

Three men, Taye Adewole, 35, Tajudeen Odunayo, 56 and Oba Lawal, 63, were on Wednesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly receiving stolen vehicle.

The three whose residential addresses were not provided were charged with conspiracy and receiving stolen vehicle.

The Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offence on Nov. 20, 2022, at about 10. 00 a.m at Iwo road area, Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that the defendants received the unregistered Toyota Corolla worth N3.5 million from one Olufemi knowing same to have been stolen from its rightful owner, Olufunke Ajayi.

Amusan said the offence contravened Sections 516 and 427 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

He adjourned the case till March 2, for hearing. (NAN)
