Ogundare blasts group, says Aiyedatiwa didn't reward Akeredolu’s enemies

A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Ogundare Gabriel Oluwaseyi (OGO) has berated a political group for claiming that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa rewarded political enemies of his predecessor, Late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The group, Ondo Solidarity Front, had in a statement signed by its General Secretary, tagged Aiyedatiwa's Commissioners of being “adversaries” of the former Governor Akeredolu.

The newly appointed Commissioners are: Mrs Omowumi Isaac, Mr Olukayode A. Ajulo, Razaq Obe, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, Akinwumi Sowore, and Mr. Oseni Oyeniyi.

The governor also appointed the following individuals as special advisers, Olugbenga Omole, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mrs Olamide Falana, Special Adviser on Gender Affairs and Mr. Alabi Johnson, Special Adviser on Energy.”

In a swift reaction, Ogundare described the claim by the group as “crass assumption” and deliberate attempt to paint Aiyedatiwa in bad light before the general public.

Ogundare noted that Mr. Alabi Johnson who voiced against illegality in state, was not an enemy of Akeredolu, stressing that Alabi and other appointees stood for what was right.

The APC Chieftain who wondered why the group would unfairly criticized Alabi's expertise, said the latter has a robust educational background.

“Alabi is a holder of HND in Electrical Engineering who later proceeded for post graduate degree and crowned it with a master degree certificate. The proof are available if need arises”, the party Chieftain added.

In a statement, Ogundare said “Governor Aiyedatiwa has diligently nominated and appointed his aides, carefully selecting individuals of impeccable character and esteemed reputation to serve in various capacities.

“It is sad to hear that brilliant men like Johnson Alabi, Rasaq Obe and others have been erroneously tagged to be the enemies of Akeredolu. Alabi spoke the mind of the people during the political crisis in the state. Also, Obe was the one who did not only keep the forgery case to himself, but also raised the alarm. The actions of these men are commendable.

“It is important to emphasize that Governor Aiyedatiwa's approach to governance is characterized by transparency and integrity, evident in the caliber of individuals chosen to assist in the administration's endeavors.

“It is worth noting that Governor Aiyedatiwa's commitment to constructive engagement and collaboration is exemplified by his cordial relationship with his predecessor, Governor Akeredolu, highlighting his dedication to fostering continuity and unity within the state's leadership.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa's leadership style is characterized by his dedication to upholding the highest ethical standards, as evidenced by the quality and integrity of his appointees, reflecting his unwavering commitment to serving the people of the state with distinction and honor.
