2 arraigned for allegedly damaging land’s corner piece worth N150,000

Two men, Rildwan Olarinde, 29, and Kola Olayiwola, 69, were on Friday arraigned before a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Ibadan, for allegedly damaging a land’s cornerpiece worth N150,000.

The duo, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy and malicious damage, to which they pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Tuesday at about 2.00 p.m. at Akanran area, Ibadan.

He said the defendants, in the bid to take the land belonging to one Mrs Fagbemi Abayomi, damaged the land’s cornerpiece.

He said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 451 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The court president, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

She, subsequently, adjourned the case until July 13 for hearing. (NAN)
