FUOYE disowns cut off marks on social media

Management of Nigeria's fastest-growing university, Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, has debunked cut off mark for the 2024/2025 UTME trending online, describing it as not only fake but the handiwork of fraudsters.

This, it said didn't emanate from the university as management was yet to determine this year's cut off mark for its programmes, asking candidates and the public to ignore the cut off mark already going viral online.

Besides, the university warned unscrupulous members of staff of the university working in tandem with the fraudsters to desist from such ignoble act or face the wrath of the law.

The fake cut off mark which was created to defraud candidates and the members of the public, has gone viral.

However, in a statement, the university's Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede said “the attention of management of FUOYE has been drawn to a fake announcement that the university has fixed cut off mark for all its programmes for the 2024/2025 UTME screening exercise. The university is yet to determine cut off mark for this year's screening exercise.

"Members of the public especially candidates seeking admission into FUOYE for the 2024/2025 session should ignore the online cut off mark as the university has not determined cut off mark for its programmes.

"We urge the public to ignore these antics of fraudsters and their cohorts because it didn't emanate from the university.

"FUOYE is yet to release the cut off mark for the 2024/2025 UTME.

"When it's ready, it would be officially announced through appropriate channels.

"We also ask members of staff of the university working hand-in-hand with the fraudsters to desist or face disciplinary action should they be caught."
