Former Vice President of Nigeria and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri, a former Majority Leader of the 7th Adamawa State House of Assembly.
In a statement issued by his media office in Abuja on Monday, Atiku described Yettisuri as a dedicated grassroots politician who served his constituents with unwavering commitment.
Yettisuri, who represented the Jada-Mbulo State Constituency for two terms, was well-regarded for his efforts toward the development and welfare of his people.
Atiku noted that his passing is a significant loss not only to his family and constituency but also to the entire Adamawa State. He recalled Yettisuri’s active political engagements, including his recent bid for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives.
"I am deeply saddened by the loss of Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri. He was not just a political associate but also a dear brother. His dedication to the progress of Jada-Mbulo and Adamawa State will always be remembered. My sincere condolences go to his family, the people of Jada-Mbulo, and all who benefited from his leadership and service," Atiku stated.
The former Vice President also prayed for divine comfort for Yettisuri’s family and eternal rest for his soul.
