The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR, received a surprise luxury car gift on Tuesday in honour of his 10th coronation anniversary.
The prestigious gift, a Mercedes Benz S580, was presented by one of the monarch’s distinguished subjects, Mr. Femi Meshe, during a special Praise and Prayer session held at the Oba Ademuwagun Hall in Akure.
Mr. Meshe, who also chairs the Central Planning Committee for the coronation anniversary, was represented by the Bamofin of Akure Kingdom and Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN.
Speaking on behalf of the donor, Dr. Ajulo described the car gift as a befitting gesture to honour a monarch who has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the growth and development of Akure Kingdom.
“This is a well-deserved honour for a king who has made great sacrifices for the land,” Ajulo said. “Mr. Femi Meshe is a proud son of Akure and understands the significance of honouring a ruler who has consistently placed Akure on the global map.”
In his remarks, Oba Aladetoyinbo expressed deep appreciation for the gift, calling it an unexpected but touching gesture as he marked a decade on the throne.
“I am short of words,” the monarch said. “Femi Meshe has always stood by me, just like many other sons and daughters of Akure who have remained committed to our shared progress. He is truly exceptional, and I pray God continues to bless and uphold him.”
Earlier in the day, the monarch was joined by family, chiefs, well-wishers, and indigenes of Akure for a thanksgiving ceremony. The event featured soul-lifting worship, gospel music, and prayers offered for the king and the prosperity of the Akure Kingdom.
