A former member of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Owolabi Adelami, on their triumph at the Court of Appeal.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the ruling at the Court of Appeal in Akure, Hon. Kolawole praised the appellate court’s decision to throw out petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, along with those of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The opposition parties had sought to upturn the verdict of the Ondo State Election Petition Tribunal, which upheld the outcome of the November 16, 2024, governorship election in favour of Aiyedatiwa.
The three-member panel, led by Hon. Justice Yargata Nimpar with Justices K.I. Amadi and I.M. Sani, unanimously dismissed all four appeals on Thursday, July 31, 2025, describing them as lacking in merit. The court resolved all the issues against the appellants and in favour of the governor and his deputy.
Hon. Kolawole commended the Court for its diligence and impartiality, and urged the people of Ondo State to continue supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa in his efforts to deliver good governance and meaningful development across the state.
