Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to step up grassroots mobilization and register more supporters ahead of the 2027 general election.
The governor made the call on Friday during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, where he also highlighted his administration’s achievements and outlined plans to attract fresh investments into the state.
Aiyedatiwa stressed that the Renewed Hope Initiative was structured to strengthen the party from the grassroots, with a target of enrolling at least 1,000 new members in each ward across the state. He described unity and regular engagements among party leaders as crucial for APC’s continued dominance.
The governor also disclosed that his administration had signed agreements for the establishment of a cement factory, a fertilizer plant, and a petrochemical industry in the state, describing the projects as strategic for job creation and economic growth. He further assured residents that all ongoing infrastructure projects, including those inherited, would be completed, while pledging intervention in key federal roads to ease transportation.
State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, commended the governor for sustaining regular interactions with stakeholders, stressing the need for party leaders to return to the grassroots and consolidate support. Other speakers, including SUBEB Chairman, Victor Olabimtan, and NDDC Director of Corporate Services, Ifedayo Abegunde, praised Aiyedatiwa’s developmental strides, insisting that the APC remained united and indivisible in Ondo.
The meeting was attended by top party figures such as Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, former Deputy Governor Lasisi Oluboyo, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, and Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, among other leaders.
